Farmshop
UPDATED REVIEW:
YAAAAYYYY! Farmshop has #ONEVEGANENTREE on their lunch AND dinner menu now, and it is out of this world delicious!!
I ordered the Feather River Farms slow roasted broccoli with ancient mayan pepita condiment, chickpea salad, pickled onions & smoked almond salsa and I ate every last bite of it! Super filling, healthy and creative. Go go go and order this entree for sure.

ORIGINAL REVIEW- June 10, 2022:
I have heard the food at Farmshop is amazing, so I went to this farm-to-table restaurant eager to check it out. Sadly, the only two items on the lengthy lunch menu that are vegan are the avocado hummus and the side of roasted broccolini. Literally every other item must be special ordered to be made vegan (hold the cheese, brown butter, aioli, yogurt, etc).
Sitting with a large group of omnivores, I asked the waiter if the chef could make anything vegan. He said he would need to go and check. Note to Farmshop: it is 2022 in Northern California and you do not have even ONE menu item for vegans who are concerned about animal welfare, climate change, and personal health? The wait staff has not even been trained to immediately answer YES when a patron asks if they can make a vegan item for lunch? Not cool, Farmshop, not cool.
When the waiter came back and said yes, the chef would make me a vegan plate, I wasn’t at all surprised to find that I was served the most basic plate- quinoa with some roasted vegetables. Do chefs not understand that vegan food can be delicious and creative? Why not at least add a wood-fired roasted cauliflower steak with chimichurri or muhammara to the menu and see how it sells? How about a roasted chickpea and romanesco and radicchio salad with a lemon tahini dressing? Seeds, beans, nuts, veggies…oh my!
My quest for #ONEVEGANENTREE per restaurant continues. Sigh.
