Hi. I’m Carrie.

Welcome to my blog. I post about plant-based restaurants and grocery items in Marin, CA.

Perry's in Larkspur

Perry's in Larkspur

Perry’s serves such a great role in Larkspur- it is the anchor restaurant as one drives into town, nestled in a gorgeous redwood grove with a creek running out back. It has a full bar, giant TVs for watching the game, and is able to accommodate very large parties for family celebrations. What they are seemingly unable to accommodate though, are vegans.

From the appetizer list, there is one item- the grilled artichoke. Ask for it without aioli, and perhaps ask them to provide a vinaigrette for drizzling instead. There are no vegan soups, nor are there any vegan entrees.

There is one generic garden salad on the menu, and there are two salads that can be special-ordered vegan:

  • Beet, spinach and arugula salad with avocado, Marcona almonds, goat cheese croquettes, lemon vinaigrette

  • The Magnolia salad, with mixed greens, blue cheese, candied walnuts, apple, currants

There is an Impossible burger on the menu. That’s the sole choice for a vegan seeking a filling main course. They have spaghetti and meatballs on the menu, but do not offer it with Impossible meatballs.

As far as vegan sides go….yep, you guessed it….fries. And crispy onion strings, although I am not certain that the batter is vegan.

My family loves going to Perry’s because the setting is just simply stunning and the atmosphere is fun. I love all of that, too, I just know I will need to eat something to fill me up before we go.
