Flybird
I was recently pointed to Flybird by another plant eater friend, and what a great tip! This Tiburon fast casual restaurant has plenty of menu items that can be made vegan, with incredibly fresh ingredients!
I ordered a Chinatown Salad, which comes with cabbage slaw, mandarin oranges, toasted almonds, chopped snowpeas, sesame sticks, cilantro, chives and a sesame vinaigrette. I was able to select from a range of animal proteins, OR I could choose their porcini dusted fried sweet potatoes as my vegan topping (which of course I did). They have a few other salads to choose from here where you could easily ask them to hold the cheese. They also have a sandwich (The Seoul) that you could have with sweet potato.
One odd thing is they serve Beyond Meat plant-based chicken strips as a SIDE dish, but do not offer the Beyond chicken strips as a plant-based protein for all of their sandwiches and salads. My guess is this is due to the cost of the Beyond chicken strips being higher than government subsidized chicken. Sigh.
Tuesday-Saturday they have a pop-up middle Eastern menu by Sababa with a falafel, a hummus bowl, roasted cauliflower, Israeli salad and more vegan delights. I cannot wait to return to try out those pop-up side of the menu!
